All ASL Classes are taught by native signers who are Deaf or CODAs, and the classes are developed and supervised by a Deaf leader. Our ASL classes will not qualify you to become an ASL interpreter. They are community classes designed for conversational skills. When appropriate, we do offer ASL III.

ASL I and ASL II are offered both virtually and in person three times a year in six to eight week classes that meet weekly. These are group classes. We also offer ASL Online, which is a private, virtual classes designed for one-on-one, best friend, or family classes. 

If you are the parent of a D/deaf or hard of hearing child, please contact our youth programs about a free Parent ASL Class offered virtually, or contact us if you would prefer to join one of our group classes.

If you are interested in becoming an interpreter, we are happy to share information about university programs where you can study. We do offer interpreting internships for those in university programs, and we also offer our Educational Interpreter Training Program to help educational interpreters prepare for and pass the EIPA to become licensed in Tennessee.
