Empowerment 

Empowerment is a case management program with elements of social work and individual-based advocacy. Much of the work is around housing, employment, food security, and navigating systems from insurance to Medicaid/Medicare communication access for medical, legal, and educational needs, and much more. Empowerment is available at BridgesTN, BridgesWEST, and BridgesEAST. 

 

Medical/Dental:

 

  • Physician and Dentists

  • Medications access

  • Insurance, TennCare, Medicare

  • Mental Health

 

Income & Employment:

 

  • Social Security and Disability

  • Food Stamps and WIC

  • Job Readiness

  • Credit/Budget counseling

  • Understanding letters and statements

 

ADA:

 

  • Rights to Accommodations (interpreters/assistive devices, etc.)

 

Housing:

 

  • Affordable Housing

  • Rent, mortgage, and utility assistance

 

Other:

 

  • Emergency Preparedness

  • Independent Living Skills

  • Legal concerns or advocacy

  • Cultural awareness and advocacy

  • Educational resources

  • Assistance filling out applications
